ALREADY FEEL THE SCENT OF COFFEE?

Let's start this guide with a hard truth:
saving money on the coffee machine is never an optimal choice. We speak from experience, after having had in our hands a variety of poor coffees that do not leave a good memory. The right preparation is handed down and experienced, it is not entirely taken for granted. Once you have the tools in order, the path becomes clearer and the challenge becomes patience and practice, let's get started!

WHAT DO YOU NEED

  • Espresso coffee machine
  • Grinder
  • O'ccaffe coffee beans

STEP 1

Remove the portafilter from the head of the espresso machine. Place it on a scale and tare the weight.

STEP 2

Rinse the machine head with hot water to remove any coffee residues and limescale.

STEP 3

For a double coffee, grind between 18 and 21 grams of coffee in the basket. The right grind is essential for a balanced and delicious espresso. You may need to adjust the fineness a bit. In general, the grind should be of the right consistency.

STEP 4

Distribute the coffee well by making a series of alternating strokes over it with your finger. It is most effective to alternate between steps by rotating your finger in a series of 90-degree increments (top to bottom, then left to right, and so on).

STEP 5

Place your portafilter on a clean and flat surface. Insert the coffee into the filter holder and, using the tamper, apply downward pressure. It is not necessary to apply very strong pressure, just enough to seal the coffee evenly. 20 to 30 pounds of pressure should suffice. Gently turn the tamper once.

STEP 6

Place the filter holder in the machine head and rotate it until it clicks. In correspondence with the filter holder, place a preferably preheated ceramic cup.

STEP 7

The coffee output should begin with a slow spill, then develop into a smooth, smooth flow. After about 30 seconds, the emission will stop, causing the foam to thicken and begin "whitening" (or yellowing). Stop dispensing just as this process begins. Some people like to mix the coffee to even out the various layers in the cup; others like to immediately sip their coffee to enjoy its many layers of flavor. This is up to you to decide. You can serve espresso with a shot of sparkling water.
